Teejay returns to his roots with new single ‘Force’
Jamaican dancehall star Teejay has officially released his latest single, “Force,” delivering a hard-hitting record that marks a return to the gritty sound that helped launch his career.
The single and official music video premiered on July 10, 2026. ProdByPanda produced the track, while Top Braff and Panda Production directed the visuals.
A return to his original sound
With “Force,” Teejay shifts away from the crossover sound that powered his global hit “Drift.”
Instead, the deejay embraces aggressive trap-dancehall production, raw lyricism and street-focused storytelling. The record centers on confidence, perseverance and staying focused while navigating success.
The release also reflects Teejay’s recent promise to reconnect with the uncompromising style that first introduced him to dancehall fans.
Montego Bay meets New York
The official music video blends two locations that have played an important role in the rollout.
Many of the outdoor scenes were filmed in Glendevon, Bottom Pen, Montego Bay, where Teejay grew up. The visual features residents from the community and captures the raw energy that shaped his early career.
However, the production didn’t stop in Jamaica.
Before the release, Teejay traveled to New York, where he hosted a live video shoot at Sky Lounge in the Bronx. Fans gathered as cameras rolled, creating additional scenes that now appear in the official music video.
The song itself was also recorded in New York before the final production was completed.
Building toward ‘No Distraction’
“Force” serves as another preview of Teejay’s upcoming sophomore album, No Distraction.
The artiste recently revealed that the project is nearly finished. He also explained that this new chapter is designed to bring listeners back to the raw “2016 Teejay” while maintaining the growth he has achieved over the past several years.
Independent and focused
Earlier this year, Teejay confirmed that he is now operating as an independent artiste after moving on from Warner Records. He continues to maintain his publishing relationship with Warner Chappell.
Since making that transition, Teejay has remained active across the Caribbean while encouraging greater unity within the region’s music industry. He has also expressed interest in working with emerging Trinidadian dancehall acts as he continues expanding his reach.
With “Force,” Teejay delivers a reminder of the gritty sound that built his name while offering another glimpse into the direction of No Distraction, one of the most anticipated dancehall projects on the horizon.
