Quavo Drops “Trance (Walk It Down)” Ahead of QRÖMELIFE Album

Atlanta rapper Quavo has officially released his new single “Trance (Walk It Down)”, marking the second official single from his upcoming solo album, QRÖMELIFE.

The track arrived Friday, August 14, 2026, with production handled entirely by Pharrell Williams.

Pharrell Takes the Sound in a New Direction

“Trance (Walk It Down)” combines booming 808s with sharp percussion and a club-ready bounce.

The record also interpolates Shannon’s 1983 dance classic “Let the Music Play.”

Pharrell’s production gives the track a modern edge while keeping the recognizable energy of the original.

The collaboration also reunites Pharrell and Quavo after Pharrell produced Migos’ 2018 hit “Stir Fry.”

The Track Was Made on a Yacht

One of the most unusual parts of the song’s creation happened on the water.

Quavo and Pharrell built a mobile recording setup aboard a luxury yacht. They used the space to write and record the track while surrounded by the Mediterranean.

Behind-the-scenes footage also shows Pharrell making adjustments to the production in real time.

At one point, he pushed Quavo to replace a snare with a handclap during the opening bars. That small change helped create the track’s signature bounce.

From Paris to Marbella

Pharrell also previewed the song before its official release.

He used “Trance (Walk It Down)” as runway music during the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s show in Paris.

That connection continues into the music video.

Quavo and frequent Migos collaborator Daps co-directed the visuals. The video was filmed in Marbella, Spain, with scenes taking place at a luxury villa and aboard a superyacht.

The visuals lean heavily into luxury fashion, nightlife and high-end travel.

Louis Vuitton pieces also feature prominently throughout the video, adding another connection to Pharrell’s fashion work.

Pharrell Is Executive Producing

QRÖMELIFE

“Trance (Walk It Down)” gives another preview of what fans can expect from Quavo’s upcoming album.

Pharrell is executive producing QRÖMELIFE, which Quavo says pushed him outside his usual creative comfort zone.

The album has reportedly been completed and turned in, with additional recording sessions taking place at Pharrell’s private studio inside Louis Vuitton’s Paris headquarters.

For Quavo, the project represents another step in expanding his sound beyond the traditional Migos formula.
