Bank of America executive killed in Times Square

Bank of America vice president Erin Piacenti, 32, is killed in a stabbing attack in New York City’s Times Square on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Piacenti works in Bank of America’s business selection and conflicts unit. According to Reuters, she suffers stab wounds during the attack and is later pronounced dead.

The NYPD says the attack appears to be random and unprovoked.

A 68-year-old tourist is also stabbed during the incident.

Police fatally shoot suspect

The suspect is identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros.

Video of the confrontation shows police officers attempting to subdue Cisneros after the reported stabbings. Officers use a Taser before opening fire.

Cisneros is fatally shot by police during the confrontation.

The NYPD Force Investigation Division is investigating the police-involved shooting.
