Pickup truck crashes into Buddhist monks during pilgrimage in Thailand

A pickup truck crashed into a group of Buddhist monks during a religious pilgrimage in Mukdahan province, Thailand, resulting in multiple casualties.

According to preliminary reports, the vehicle struck a line of monks as they were walking along the roadway. Initial reports claim that around 30 monks were hit, with at least 12 people killed and several others injured. Authorities have not yet released a final official casualty count.

Reports also indicate that the pickup truck was allegedly being driven by a minor who had taken the vehicle without authorization. Officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine exactly what happened and whether any additional individuals may be held responsible.

The incident has shocked communities across Thailand as investigations remain ongoing.
