Jamaican dancehall artist Rygin King has now spent 155 days in U.S. immigration custody, leaving one of the genre’s recognizable voices largely absent from the public music scene. Rygin King, whose real name is Matthew Smith, was taken into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody on March 23, 2026.
