Chronic Law breaks silence after arrest, says case stems from ongoing legal matter
Dancehall artiste Chronic Law has spoken publicly for the first time since his recent arrest in the United States. He says the case is not new and remains part of an ongoing legal matter.
The statement follows his booking into the Broward County Main Jail after U.S. Marshals arrested him on a listed charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The arrest quickly became one of the biggest talking points in the dancehall community.
Management says case is not new
Soon after the arrest, Chronic Law’s management released a public statement to clarify the situation.
Management said the matter comes from a previously existing case that is still before the courts. It also stressed that the recent arrest does not involve a new criminal case.
The team added that its attorneys remain fully engaged and confident in the legal process. Management also expressed hope that the matter will reach a resolution in the near future.
Chronic Law responds
Chronic Law later addressed the situation on Instagram. He claimed the same law enforcement officer connected to his January arrest has continued to target and harass him.
The artiste said officers arrested him again after his performance at Rise N Toast on July 5 over what he described as an alleged warrant from Georgia. He also pointed out that he had performed in Atlanta the day before without any issues.
Chronic Law said the ongoing legal battle has affected both his freedom and the career he has worked hard to build. He added that he is prepared to answer any legitimate legal matter through the proper court process but wants what he describes as the continued targeting to stop.
Calls out media coverage
In the same statement, Chronic Law criticized several media outlets for reporting what he believes is inaccurate information about his case.
He urged members of the media to research the facts before publishing stories that could damage a person’s reputation or career. He also asked the public to pay close attention as the legal process continues.
The case remains before the courts, and no final ruling has been made. BuzzinOnline will continue to follow the matter and provide updates as more information becomes available.
