Malie Donn targets Skippa and his camp in “Sweets Man” music video
Dancehall artiste Malie Donn has released the official music video for “Sweets Man,” the latest diss track in his ongoing lyrical feud with fellow entertainer Skippa.
The release follows Skippa’s “Glocks and Chips,” continuing one of Dancehall’s most talked-about clashes as both artistes exchange lyrical shots.
While Skippa remains the primary target, “Sweets Man” extends beyond a one-on-one clash. Throughout the track, Malie Donn appears to broaden his focus, with listeners pointing to direct and subliminal jabs aimed at artistes and figures aligned with Skippa’s camp, including Valiant, Skeng and Chronic Law, as well as producers and selectors associated with the opposing side.
Instead of delivering the diss over a dark, aggressive riddim, Malie Donn takes a different approach. The song pairs upbeat, commercial production with disrespectful and mocking lyrics, creating a record designed to work both as a clash song and a club-ready release.
Produced by Salkey Recordz, Shortdon Muzik and EL Crook Empire, the track reflects the modern sound that has become a trademark of Jamaica’s new generation of Dancehall.
The official music video keeps the energy high with performance-driven visuals that match the pace of the song while reinforcing its confrontational message.
“Sweets Man” also continues the rollout for Malie Donn’s debut album, “The Golden Child,” which is scheduled for release on July 24 through VP Records. The 20-track project is expected to feature collaborations with Squash, Byron Messia and Javo Donn.
The strategy has kept Malie Donn at the center of Dancehall conversation. Following the releases of “Back 2 Basic,” “Opps Song,” and now “Sweets Man,” the artiste has maintained a steady run of music leading into his debut album while continuing to dominate headlines surrounding the ongoing lyrical feud.
The official music video is now available on YouTube.
